First Aid at Sea At sea, professional medical assistance may not be immediately available. In an emergency, the skipper and crew must be able to assess the situation, provide essential first aid and call for medical advice or evacuation. The RYA First Aid Course is a practical, one-day classroom course developed specifically for people who go afloat. It covers common medical emergencies onboard and the particular challenges of treating a casualty at sea.
