Pearl of the Adriatic
Sailing to Dubrovnik is our program designed for sailors who want to upgrade their sailing skills, meet new friends, collect NM in their logbook. Enjoy the beautiful Croatian coast and the legendary city of Dubrovnik, indeed!
“Regardless of whether you are visiting Dubrovnik for the first time or the hundredth, the sense of awe never fails to descend when you set eyes on the beauty of the old town. It’s indeed hard to imagine anyone becoming jaded by the city’s marble streets, baroque buildings and the endless shimmer of the Adriatic, or failing to be inspired by a walk along the ancient city walls that protected a civilised, sophisticated republic for centuries.”

Description
Dubrovnik – old Croatian town
Sailing to Dubrovnik is one of our programs that you can call cruising with a historical theme. The city of Dubrovnik is one of the inexhaustible topics of historians and artists. On this sailing program you will have time to visit those most important sights – city walls with fortresses, Lovrjenac, Stradun, and one or two of the many Dubrovnik squares. Walk around the city and join the multicultural environment of one of Europe’s most visited cities. The city where the Game of Thrones is filmed is definitely worth a visit!
Events in the City
71st Dubrovnik Summer Festival
10th July – 25th August 2020.
The event Dubrovnik Summer Festival – taking place from back in 1950. We can say that it is a cultural trademark of the City. Why not breathe in a bit of culture in sailing?
International Music Festival Dubrovnik
International Late Summer Music Festival Dubrovnik is a festival launched by Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra for the first time in 2013 and it found great acceptance among the audience. It takes time in late August and lasts until late September. Its aim is to keep the presence of music and cultural vibrancy in Dubrovnik after the Dubrovnik Summer Festival.
The Wild League
July – August 2020
For those who long for more water adrenaline, we recommend one of the games of the well-known Dubrovnik Water Polo Wild League. Today, the Dubrovnik Water Polo Championship is the largest amateur water polo competition in the world. More than 40 members each year at the beginning of July, landing in the sea, start the race for the title of the champion. The Wild League finals are played in the old city port and it’s a premium sport event. Water polo is traditional for Dubrovnik, and the positive atmosphere of the event never fails to delight tourists.

LITERATURE
For our advanced courses we recommend the following literature: Advanced Sailing Course.
The proposed handbook has been written by our part-time instructor and it is the perfect literature for our advanced courses. The handbook addresses topics of navigation, radiotelephony and sailing with the spinnaker, but it also serves as a lifelong reminder on sailing theory and practice.
The handbook is available at ANA Sail center in Jezera. We highly recommend it!
