Sail more!
You have fallen in love with sailing on your RYA Competent Crew course and you would like a chance to enjoy more in your new passion. Maybe you want to refresh and improve your knowledge and skills and collect some more experience and miles, or you’re preparing for the RYA Day Skipper course. Anyhow, we got you covered – with Competent Crew Plus program!
Competent Crew Plus program is a special ANA sail program for those who have already successfully passed their RYA Competent Crew course. It’s designed for all Competent Crew’s who would like to refresh their skills and knowledge and/or prepare and collect the miles for the RYA Day Skipper course.
Island of Murter in the heart of ancient Dalmatia with its nearby islands and villages provide a perfect setting for the sailing course. It’s where the turquoise colours of the sea compete every day in the beauty of their spectre and where the warm sun and a gentle sea breeze with a taste of salt and a scent of pine trees provide excellent conditions for sailing in t-shirts. As well as for swimming in the crystal clear sea.
Regardless if you’re alone or with your friends and family, feel free to contact us.
Competent Crew Plus program focuses on refreshing and enhancing your existing yacht crewing skills. Also on getting a taste of basic navigation and skippering skills. You will learn to prepare a yacht and all the lines for departure and to take three points fixes on a chart as well as to keep a ship’s log.
Besides that, you’ll get a chance to learn more ways to tie knots. You’ll trim the sails, handle lines when berthing and leaving a berth as well as practice helming. There will be MOB (Man Overboard) drills, anchor handling and buoy catching. You will cover basic rules of the road and how weather affects sailing in more depth. You will experience a night sail too.
As a part of the course you will be able to use sailing handbooks from the yacht’s library that will help you to make the most of the course. Every morning the course starts with theory lesson. After that we sail till lunch break and then we sail till docking for the night in the late afternoon.
There is no official certificate after this course and there is no assessment. However, instructor will thoroughly brief you on your progress. Also, instructor will guide you through further steps if you would like to continue with your development. Instructor will also log the miles you did during the course in your RYA Logbook.
